A pair of unsprung vintage-style real walnut bakelite DUDOK (Famous Dutch architect from the 1930's) inspired lever handles with a rarely seen Art Deco back-plate.
All our BROLITE real Bakelite pieces are based on original designs from early to mid-20th century and unusually, all our door knobs & handles are interchangeable on all of our Bakelite back-plates. A luxury which gives a huge number of combinations to choose from. If you are unable to see the combination you are after, you can order the parts individually to make up your desired set.Â
Mixing the 1930's back-plate with the DUDOK handle is certainly unique and stunning and will even suit contemporary settings. In addition, this plain lever handle is exceptionally comfortable to the hand.
Pairs of handles or knobs are complete with a 5/16" (7.9mm) square spindle so they should fit some old locks as well as new ones. You may have a 7.6mm spindle in the old lock, in which case the square hole in the lock can be filed out to 7.9mm with a sharp square file. The necessary slotted grub screws for the spindle and slotted wood screws for the plates are also supplied.Â
The back-plate is number 6090 and the DUDOK lever is No 6207 and these parts and the screws can be purchased separately if required.
Please note:Â these handles are unsprung - just like the originals - and so require some help to return them to a horizontal position. You willl therefore need to ensure that the lock used has sufficient spring capacity, or fit a spring cassette underneath the back-plate in the face of the door.
Available in Black and Walnut.
