Walnut Brown Bakelite Stepped Oval Door Knobs On Empire Bathroom Copper Plates

Bakelite Door knobs/handles supplied with our Polished Copper Unlacquered Deco backplates, creating a wonderful contrast of material and a striking authentic vintage look.
Sold in pairs, the Black or Walnut real Bakelite are matched to the solid brass back plates. The plates are available in Polished Copper Unlacquered, Polished Chrome or Polished Brass Unlacquered. The brass and copper plates will mellow with time or with routine polishing with Brasso or Brasso Wadding or similar, will allow the finishes to blossom and give you a wonderful vintage patina. Over time, the copper finish will wear partly off to the Nickel finish below, this will only add to the characterful vintage look.
Supplied with 3/4″ (19mm) wood screws, a 5/16″ (7.9mm) Spindle (110mm) and grub screws.

All our BROLITE real Bakelite pieces have been modelled on original designs from early to mid-20th century. The door knobs & handles are interchangeable on all the Brolite backplates, so you can order the parts individually if necessary.Please note: these handles/knobs are unsprung – just like the originals – and so require some help to return them to a horizontal position. You willl therefore need to ensure that the latch or lock used has sufficient spring capacity.
